Risen (Gameplay #8)
1Unlike Gothic 3, Risen is clearly divided into separate chapters; each with their own main objectives and unique circumstances. I was a bit unprepared for the sudden chapter transition here but it seems that - contrary to what I've read on some forums - the majority of my unfinished quests are carried over and can be finished without problems in Chapter 2. However, I wouldn't be surprised if whatever Chapter 1 quests you've not yet acquired cannot be accessed after moving on to the next part of the game.
Whereas Chapter 1 was mostly about exploring the island at your own pace, improving your skills and learning about the different factions and their goals, Chapter 2 seems a much more focused experience with the overarching goal (i.e. find four Discs) being clearly presented right at the get-go. This overall impression is reinforced by the fact that you're now given access to teleporter stones which (much like in Gothic 3) lets you fast-travel between locations easily.
