Risen (Gameplay #10)
1From my experience with Piranha Bytes games so far, it does not appear that the developer is a big fan of dungeons. Exploration in Risen is (as it also was in Gothic 3) mostly done in the great outdoors - where all sorts of treasures, rare plants and fearsome enemies ensure that any detour from the relative safety of the road can turn into a dangerous as well as highly lucrative endeavour. On those comparatively rare occasions when the player do get to go inside for extended periods of time there's usually some major quest-related reason for doing so, and given that Piranha Bytes seem equally skilled at producing atmosphere and immersion inside crumbling castles and dank caves as they are out in the sprawling wilderness, these forays into the dark are often a lot of fun.
