Apple II Game Demonstration Series - Lemonade Stand
Now I turn my attention from action titles to educational games, showcasing some of the most famous. Lemonade Stand developed on time-sharing by MECC, ported to Applesoft BASIC and released by Apple Computer itself in 1979. It was a very common program in elementary school computer labs. The game was designed to teach children simple concepts like budgeting, gauging supply and demand, responding to changes in the market and logical decision making. While it is mostly text based, it does have some mixed text/graphics mode screens where the low pixel resolution (40x40) allows the programmer to display all the colors the Apple II can generate.
