Astyanax is a respectable action game with a better story than some old games. You play as Astyanax (a name of Greek origin, which would relate to the son of Hector and Andromanche), a sixteen year old boy from Greenview High. He's just your average kid with a knack for sleeping and dreaming, which gets him laughed at every now and then. However, he's been having the same strange dream lately of a girl from another world who keeps calling his name.
Astyanax gets a wake-up call when he's just walking one day and gets sucked into another world! When he awakens, he finds a "butterfly". The butterfly, named Cutie, explains that he's in the world of Remlia, and that he is the only hope for this world. The girl who calls upon Astyanax, known as Princess Rosebud, has been kidnapped by an evil man named Blackhorn. He intends to steal Rosebud's energy to have enough power to rule over Remlia indefinitely. You have to save her, since she's the only one who can take you home.
The game has an on-going story that is portrayed in a Ninja Gaiden sort of fashion. The game itself is relatively easy and rather simple, but not without its faults. You gain access to simple weapon upgrades, a few spells and... that's it. It doesn't matter anyway, since the game isn't very long. Enjoy.
