Automobilista (2016) - Every PC F1 Game
Automobilista by Reiza Studios, 2016.
Much like their previous Game Stock Car titles, Reiza keep adding content to their Automobilista title. Thus we can jump a bit into the future from it's 2016 release date, to 2018 spec F1 cars, complete with the halo!
I've also added the "add-on" in-car arms, which have to be manually enabled for each team in the game! They don't work perfectly, if you turn too far then you can see through them!
Overall though, Automobilista is amazing, given it's based originally on the rFactor 1 engine. The lighting is more subtle, the effects better, and the way the cars bounce and bob about looks great.
My PC might be slightly underpowered on the replay views, as the framerate isn't perfect, but it's good enough!
1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 We're at Austria, rather than Monza. The halo here makes it a bit more tricky to see what you're doing. I like the dust effects from the car going off-track!
2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:27 This is Japan, instead of Silverstone. There's no wet weather or spray in this game. All the cars have fictional livery, as the FIA/FOM had the game removed from sale for looking too much like real-life F1! The camera views here are a bit more exciting than Game Stock Car Extreme, although you can cycle through to ones that are the same as that title.
3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:45 This is the Ribeirão Preto circuit, as it's the closest to a street circuit in the game. The lighting here is more vibrant, due mainly to a different filter effect being applied to the game.
4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:03 This is the Londrina track, as used in the Game Stock Car videos. There's not much difference, though the trees seem to be remodelled.
5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:15 Pitstops are just as unexciting as previous games by Reiza. This time, they replaced the hovering board with some virtual arrows, which makes it feel a bit arcade, to be honest. Nothing happens for a while, then you can leave! Interlagos seems to be modelled better now; the pitlane is much more detailed.
6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:42 The physics here are pretty much similar to previous rFactor games. Again, it's nice to see cars collide with debris, but the shadows from missing wheels and wings looks a bit daft!
