Be hip and be cool as you venture out in an awesome adventure filled with danger. See if you can handle lots of challenges in this 16-bit graphic design game called AWESOME Land. The main focus in this platformer game is to control your character and locate the stoplight somewhere in each level. You will face lots of enemy creatures or monsters along the way. But you can defeat these enemies by jumping on top of them. You only have a limited amount of lives so watch out. The game also features bosses that you must defeat to access new worlds.

Awesome Land is an action packed platform based game, if you have played Super Mario before, you'll feel at home with this one as the gameplay feels just like it, the only difference is that this one seems a bit more violent while Super Mario is more on the wholesome side, anyway, you will play the game as Manley, a rough and tumble motorcyclist, the aliens have stolen his motorbike and you'll have to go after them to get his bike back at all cost, you'll need to travel across hostile alien planets fighting unimaginable creatures of alien origins, while jumping from one platform to another and dodging obstacles and traps at the same time, that's besides the big bosses waiting for you at the end of the levels, indeed, the aliens are bent on keeping the bike, and they'll do anything to stop you from getting it back...but Manley just won't give his bike up and he just won't stop until he gets it back home to Earth, the game has 25 levels for you to traverse, all of them filled with a variety of enemies and challenges you need to address, so are you up to the challenge?, play the game and get ready to rumble here in Awesome Land.

Graphics and Sound

Awesome Land has cool 16 bit graphics and has this retro look and feel, but although it is pixelated and looks like Super Mario, this one seems to have finer textures and smoother edges, environments are great, it looks quite varied depending on the location you're in, colors are great too, the game is vibrant overall and really soft to the eyes, animations are like the 16 bit games, not really as smooth as compared to the standards of today but still okay as the game was designed this way, music and sounds are cool, and certainly adds up to the fun factor, special effects are nice, nothing fabulous or groundbreaking but still nice as the game is like this by design, overall, the game is still pretty with it's classic presentation and gameplay.

Gameplay

Awesome Land is quite similar to Super Mario, not only in looks but also in gameplay, all throughout the game, you will be running and jumping from one platform to another dodging obstacles like flames, spikes and many more, you'll also encounter a lot of alien creatures along the way that vary in sizes, the minions are quite easy to eliminate but the bosses are harder to beat, your fighting skills will be tested here, as with all games, this one will start out quite easy but will gradually increase in difficulty as you progress through the higher levels, there are hidden items on the blocks, break them and get cool items to help you out like more lives and some meat for the character's health, controls are simple and easy, there are left and right arrows on the left to control the character's movements and an action button on the right to make Manley jump from one platform to another.

Features

Awesome Land features 16 bit retro graphics and gameplay, it is fairly similar to Super Mario, there are 25 levels you need to complete, it has an amazing soundtrack, there are a lot of enemies you can stomp in the game, minions and bosses, and it has simple controls to maximize the fun factor.

Conclusion

Awesome Land is one cool game to play, the younger player can experience the fun and excitement from the past, the game is both challenging and fun, experience a platform game at its finest.
