I just had to go right back to it! After a disappointing finish last week, I made some tweaks and I knew I had to run back my Azorious meta hate deck with the improvements I talked about in my final thoughts.

Through the Hatepaths is a controlling midrange decks that uses disruptive creatures that counteract the most popular and powerful value engines of the format. We'll be shutting off our opponents' key triggers and abilities, completely breaking up their game plan until we can't help but win!

The hate is varied and plentiful this time around. Doorkeeper Thrull shuts those pushed ETB triggers down for creatures and artifacts (hello Simulacrum Synthesizer)! Clarion Conqueror says no to Kaito and other powerful activated abilities. Detect Intrusion says not anymore to triggered abilities, and counters Doom Blade too! Veteran Survivor and Rest and Peace have got the graveyard covered! Makdee and Itla, Skysnarers are here in greater numbers to slow our opponents down and as a cheap flyer! Voice of Victory says no to that pesky instant speed play.

In short, we've got hate for every popular and powerful archetype in the game! Last week we were running Verilax the Havenskin as a finisher, but 5 mana is really more than we want to pay for a beatstick. Tonight, we're trying out Twining Twins in this flex slot as a good evasive and defensive body that also provides nice disruption on the adventure side. Seems like it could be pretty good.

Azorious keeps us well protected with a powerful array of removal, sweepers and counters.
