This Mardu list is somewhere between combo control and midrange. We are a ramp deck taking advantage of some powerful cards that provide bursts of mana. We'll use the extra mana to play out bombs ahead of schedule and, especially, to fuel X cost burn effects that will go to our opponents' face and hopefully win the game.

We've got our conventional rocks and dorks like Sunset Strikemaster and The Irencrag along with some sweet tech to give us more burst mana! Cheering Crowd is a grizzly bear that grows as it provides us extra mana each turn! Lavabrink Repels the Magmaloth forces our opponents' creatures to attack into our deathtouchers, then add 3 red mana, then lava axes our opponent in the face! Clive, Ifrit's Dominant can flip into a big threat that dumps 4 mana into our pool 2 turns in a row.

We'll use the bursts of mana to play bombs like Ugin, Eye of the Storms and Liliana, Dreadhorde General early. Mostly, what we want to do is pour the mana bursts into damaging X effects like Boommobile and especially Luis, Pompous Pillager to close out the game in one explosive go! Mardu colors give us access to all the interaction we need to make it happen, especially the discard spells we need to make sure our foes don't go wild off mana from our Crowds. It's wholesome, janky fun for anyone who, likes me, just loves to lob giant burn spells to the face!
