Barro F (2020) - Every PC F1 Game
Barro F by SC Jogos, 2020.
The Brazilian-made Barro series of games are small arcade racers, with a lot of off-the-shelf assets. This version, Barro F, features exclusively F1 cars, and tracks floating in the sky with absolutely no hills. There's an "experimental" in-car view (F2 key), 10 tracks and 2 styles of F1 car in multiple colours.
The game's main appeal is to try to beat the world leaderboards and unlock various achievements and Steam cards. So it's very lightweight indeed. Let's take a closer look...
Note: there's a bit of ghosting in this video, due to the game having a lot of flat colours and how my video editing software likes to handle keyframes :-p it's also a Unity game that prefers 50hz, so I captured at 100hz then saved at 50hz for maximum smoothness.
1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 There are no real race tracks in the game. But this is what the start of races are like; chaotic affairs with cars flying about, a degree of wall-riding, and some dodgy physics, should you touch another car or the wall!
2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:22 There's no rain in the game either, so here's a blue-ish car.
3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:37 No Monaco either, so here's a car that's a bit like a McLaren, colour-wise.
4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 0:50 There's no Spa or hills, or rain. So here's some in-car. This is the older looking car model.
5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:02 There's no pits either. But there are some bits where you can drive off the track (although hitting a wall can flip you off the track too).
6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:14 Crashes are fairly random and bizarre. On this one I got pinned on the wall and it didn't automatically reset my car, though you can hit a respawn button and do that yourself.
