Formula Car Racing Simulator by Enaaya Software Development and Services Private Limited, 2020.

This is an almost on-rails arcade racer, from Indian based developer Enaaya Software Development and Services Private Limited (a company name that tells you exactly what they do for a living!).

This game has a weird, almost endless-runner, rendering of tracks, where scenery "folds" around corners into view. Your car moves slowly from side-to-side, and if you reverse at the start, you drive clean off the track into space (where you can see the background but no track!). It feels very mobile-port, with on-screen buttons... notably the control they suggest for nitro boost, space bar, doesn't actually work so you have to click the icon with your mouse!

The game plays exclusively from in-car, but you can switch car liveries at any time by clicking the dial on the steering wheel (and who doesn't like starting a race as Red Bull then ending it as Ferrari?!).

If you take too many hits your car textures disappear and go black (maybe they forgot the damage textures), whilst hitting a track-side object crashes you out instantly.

The computer controlled cars are VERY rubberband-y. Stop your car and they wait for you! But on harder levels, even using a nitro next to the leaders has little effect, as they will come close then remain ahead of you, meaning you often lose the race by coming 4th.

There are several race modes, a basic racing one, a police chase mode (F1 police car) where you ram other cars, a crash mode (where you, erm, ram other cars) and a shooting game, where you have to shoot rival cars. All modes I think we could do with in real life?!

The graphics are okay for a mobile-style game (with a few elements lifted from the Bahrain and Italian Grand Prix tracks, to name just two), but the music (which can't be switched off) is odd, it plays in stereo whilst you're on the yellow/orange line, but then switches from left-to-right speakers, as though the line is where the music is coming from. Just weird!

Overall, far from the best arcade racer, but not totally boring.

1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 There are some elements from the Italian Monza track here (the podium gantry) but it's all just made up otherwise. When opponent cars touch they crash and slow down.

2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:29 There's no rain and nothing that looks particularly like Silverstone in the game. But one car texture looks a bit Red Bull, at least.

3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:48 No Monaco in the game, but a few tall buildings. Some pinched from Bahrain, it seems!

4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:07 Again, no rain. But some weird trackside ads: "Thank God you can't sink this ship - Life-Sized Ark" :-o

5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:22 There's nothing Brazilian in the game. There are bits of the track that look a bit pitstop-like, but they serve no purpose. When you drive off-track, weirdly leaves blow away from your front tyres! Also, due to how the scenery "folds" around the corners, I nearly crash getting back on track, as the car steers so slowly!

6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:46 Crashes just slow you down, until you run out of health and then your car turns black. Hitting trackside objects ends your race with a "Crashed" message.
