1:05:35 Recap
Feasts, Vengeances, Piercing Darknesses, or Ruinations in this deck. Instead, we’re playing some units and attacking in a way that the game was meant to be played!
Jayce decks typically have a very similar core. You’ll be playing Jayce, some copies of Shock Blast, Hexbliterator, Formula, or Assembly Line, and then you’ll choose to go down the path of Lux or Heimerdinger. Lux decks are more board-centric, with interactive combat tricks and challengers in the early game. Heimerdinger decks have drains and Shadow Isles-based removal.
But what if you don’t want to do that? What if you want to find some extra special ways to take advantage of Jayce? That’s what we’re trying to do today. The big concept that came to me with this style of deck was the usage of Albus Ferros. Albus was upgraded in the 4.1 patch to start doing a base of three damage instead of a base of one. That means if you’ve played four or five six cost spells throughout the course of the game, he’s able to deal seven or eight damage blasts.
So how can we get One Turn Kills (OTKs) with Albus? That’s where we’re looking towards Ionia with Dawn and Dusk. This gives you the opportunity to summon two copies of an ally, which can then attack and do a gigantic boom of damage. The six cost turret you get out of Heimerdinger is the elusive turret. If you assume your opponent can never block it, then casting Dawn and Dusk on a six attack elusive is pretty good. You can also get 21 damage from the turrets if you’ve played a Hextech Handler.
So that’s the idea with this deck. We’re looking to use Dawn and Dusk along with Albus to pick up those OTKs. We’re also looking to take advantage of Heimerdinger’s sixth cost space and the elusive turret. So let’s jump into battle and see what we can do! Who knows, maybe we’ll be able to pull off some pretty cool OTKs.
