This video was captured using the actual game on an actual Nintendo 64. The over five minute long story sequence has been removed for pacing, time, and your consideration. The story is not bad at all, but it is told very slowly so I removed it to get the gameplay going right away.

All must bow to the greatness known as Battle Tanx. This is indeed one of my favorite games for the N64. It's funny that a game that sort of suggests that you leave your brain at the door before playing it, has such an elaborate story and does a lot of story telling. The story is interesting but the cut-scenes are pretty long and can become tiresome to watch given the the gameplay is so fast pace. So here is the story in a nutshell. A virus hit the Earth that only infected women and caused mass death among females. America enforces marshal law to collect the remaining women by force in the name of safety. Men don't like this idea for obvious reasons and revolt. Government against civilians gets way out of hand and they end up blowing each other up. Now that the Earth is ruined and the virus is no more, the only thing left to fight for is women, and since women are vastly outnumbered by men......you get the idea.

Ok story time is over! What about this game? Well if this game doesn't look fun to you there is something insanely wrong with you. Before I go on I played this game on the normal difficulty as the game defaults to easy. Most play on easy not even realizing it, and the game puts up somewhat of a fight, but nothing terrible. On normal this game is very challenging. You must be very aggressive and either watch your back or be ready to move fast because your opponents are very intense. The gameplay speaks for itself here.

Graphic wise it is certainly not the most impressive display of the N64's abilities, but much of the environments are destructible and very fun to blast or simply roll through. Just about everything collapses or falls apart when you destroy it. The sound in this game is amazing. If you have a good subwoofer this game will pound holes in your walls every time you fire your turret. Couple the sight of crumbling walls and enemies with excellent and crystal clear sound and you have a recipe for awesomeness. Additionally the controls are excellent no matter which way you like to control your tank as there are several very different control schemes.

I can't say enough good things about this game so it should go without saying that I highly recommend this game. This game is very available and affordable.
