Bayonetta 3 FINAL: A Storybook Ending
0I knew about the Old Picture Book in Rodin's shop, of course. It's literally at the top of his Treasures list, you can't miss it. But in my original playthrough, I never even bought it.
Back then, you couldn't even open it until you beat the game, after which you'd have to replay levels to find the three keys to unlock it. I think those keys were hidden in Ginnungagap sections, for what it's worth, but after I fought Kraken in Phenomenal Remnant 14, I considered the game done and didn't really touch it.
Luckily for me, and I guess everyone else, they put out an update that just automatically grants you all the keys as soon as you can go to the Gates of Hell. So, here we are!
More of a playable teaser than a demo, this is the first glimpse of Bayonetta Origins that PlatinumGames gave to the world, six weeks before they formally announced it. I think that's pretty wild to do! I mean, I know it's not a *new* thing to do, but the last time I remember seeing something like that is in Travis Strikes Again, and it was still years before No More Heroes 3 came out. Bayonetta Origins came out 5 months later.
The reason this is a second take, however, is that they actually included one final costume for Bayonetta. If you find the three flowers from Inferno and make them bloom, then backtrack a bit, you'll find a treasure chest with the Super Mirror 0 inside. I totally forgot about it the first time around. Thankfully, there's not much to this.
In fact, while I'm on the subject, I'm glad I didn't have to go through the effort of finding the keys. If I had done all that and this was all I got as a reward, just a few minutes of walking through a small area, I *might* have been annoyed. Then again, I might have been extremely hyped when they did announce it. Oh well.
