What's this? An itch.io Tuesday game that's not running on Unreal Engine 4? That's right, viewers, this is Bloodletter, an FTE Quake total conversion that was made for a game jam. 20 whole megabytes of pure retro shooting fun! I've had complaints from people in the comments about "fake old-school games that run on modern engines", so I hope this satisfies your appetites!

I rather like this game and its low-res artstyle. It looks a bit too "Gamecube" with its textures and lighting to actually resemble a 1996 PC game, but it's interesting. The gameplay is really fun, if brain-dead. Since it's running with Quakeworld physics, you can bunnyhop to your heart's content. I only wish this game was longer, because it's a great concept with interesting ideas and sound design. If only every Tuesday featured a game this good...
