This is a little Halloween month 2019 bonus: Wake Up by Philisophic Games. I've wanted to cover this game ever since I first saw it on itch.io's list of UE4 games. What is Wake Up, you may ask? It's an old-school survival horror game in the style of David Lynch. Either one of these would be enough to warrant a video by itself; combined, it's a true masterpiece just waiting to happen. It's games like these that made the failed itch.io Tuesdays experiment worth it. The visuals, while low-poly, are just so striking that they evoke emotions far greater than any generic, big budget AAA flop that's been released recently.
So why did I publish that silly Duck game instead of this as the official video for today, you ask? Well unfortunately, the only spatialized sound is the telephone in the timestamp. The sound design is brilliant otherwise, but it just lacks any object-based spatialization.
