Less of a conventional racing game, and more a hybrid of Outrun-style road racing, combined with skateboard style stunts, drift boosts and the ability to "bonk" other cars out the way (leading to conflict with the police), this is one memorable game!
It also features this "Slipstream" F1-style car! Make no mistake though, this endless racer is not particularly easy, and requires a lot of skill (and some luck) to do well at, as you increase speeds by drifting, then score points by attacking other road users or doing stunts.
There are bonus features like "Road Rage" where you can destroy many cars at once, and some crazy tracks including one set on the Moon, and one called "In The Abs of God", where you drive up, erm, the abs stomach muscles of God! It gets weirder if you play the "Shifty Road" bonus game mode, that plays out like a beat-em-up between cars... oh and there's a new car called Van Diesel with a certain person's head grafted onto a riced-up van...
Anyway, here's some gameplay...
1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 The Woods environment here, I kept it simple, racing-wise, with just some boosts.
2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:28 This is the Sky track. I was trying to get to "Under Da Sea" track, but it proved too hard for me! So here we are in the clouds, drift boosting, jumping and throwing some stunts.
3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:48 "The Big Pineapple" is a play on New York, just with large pineapple trees (obviously!). The people lined the roads (and driving cars) are all crash test dummies.
4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:14 The Ice Cap track is surrounded by Narwhals and Polar Bears. I take out a car on this stage.
5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:38 There's no pits, obviously, so I park by a cow on this Farmyard track.
6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:49 Here I'm on the Cliffside Coast track, trying to crash. The car constantly accelerates, so you can't come to a complete stop. Crashes just slow you down, so you run out of time, as shown here.
