This is another great Arizona State Park and it is right on the shores of the Colorado River in Parker, Arizona. If you are a tent camper, those tent sites are waterfront. RVers still have a nice view of the Colorado River.
What we love about Buckskin Mountain State Park:
1. Sites are adequate in size, some with sewer and many with water views
2. Large, grassy, shady dog park
3. Colorado River, a short walk from your campsite for a cool dip or to take the doggies for a dip
4. Miles of scenic hiking trails including three old mines
5. Cactus Garden - a shady retreat on a hot day and a desert tortoise lives there
6. Some shade in this park - bonus
7. Verizon works well
8. Great place for boaters, water toys, swimming, picnicing
What we didn't love about Buckskin Mountain State Park:
1. There is boat and watercraft noise on the weekends and afternoons - not a deal breaker but sometimes it can get really loud.
We enjoyed a great week at Buckskin Mountain State Park.
