Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - Xbox 360 - Intro with first Story & Arcade Missions [4K]
The forth and the most recent game to date in Techland's wild west shooter series, will just skip over the 3rd game known as the cartel for now. Is the best in the series and true credit to Techland, each game largely improved on the previous outing. Even if the 3rd game was a huge little down in story and mission design with the modern day setting. This video shows gameplay from the first story and arcade stages in-game.
Gunslinger sees you play as a bounty hunter known as Silas Greaves who recounts tales of his days in the old west to the the patrons of a local bar. As the story progressives you discover he might well have chosen that bar for a reason. The story itself features numerous real life cowboys even if the events themselves are somewhat fictional, however it does include an unlockable gallery with facts on the known historical events.
As as FPS this is a fast paced, smooth and good looking and sounding game, polished to a very high level. The art style uses a cel shaded comic book look to help tell the story. Combine with some excellent voice acting the story itself is a series of flashbacks that changes as Silas embellishes the true and as the other patrons question his stories. Topping this all off is a bullet time slow motion feature, duelling system and an upgrades and unlock system and even once you've finished the game. The arcade and duel modes will keep you coming back for more.
In terms of series timeline this is the third game with the story for the games taking place in the following order Bound in Blood, Call of Juarez, Gunslinger, The Cartel. That said the Juarez treasure and characters from the previous games are only briefly mentioned in this one. Certainly if you do want to play the series, play Bound in Blood before the original as it spoils a lot of the plot points.
This is one of the best wild west first person shooters on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Recent rumours also suggest it will be coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the near future.
