The Kingdom hearts series was close to getting an animated TV series. Back in 2002, former director at Disney was hired to write a script and direct a pilot episode.

The pilot was considered excellent; however, the project got scrapped in fear of jeopardizing Square Enix’s and Disney’s relationship.
The pilot episode was being worked on around the time Kingdom Hearts 1 got released.

Later on, KhInsider revealed that the director of the Ratchet & Clank movie and Sly Cooper movie, was going to direct an episode back in 2004. According to Kevin Munroe, the episode was supposed to take place in a Jungle Book world.

Jungle Book has never appeared in any Kingdom Hearts game. The world was originally planned for Birth by Sleep, but got scrapped.
Kevin Munroe, director of both Ratchet and Sly movies, was going to put his own twist to the story.

Now, since Munroe is directing Ratchet & Clank and Sly Cooper, could he maybe work on an animated series in the future? Sony Computer Entertainment America, Insomniac Games, Sucker Punch and Sanzaru Games have a pretty good relationship, could their relationship lead to animated series in the future?
