(C&C SHWSP Mod #3) Superweapon General Hard Full Challenge (Backlog 10)
Man, I missed playing USA generals after those first 2 challenges, even if a lot of air units got nerfed, or removed(rip Aurora's 4 shotting any SW or CC for every USA general). Just an answer to anything and everything with minimal fuss versus the computer players. Rocket buggies are still annoying as heck though.
I didn't realize just how good Alexanders new tanks are until halfway through this challenge. I should've been abusing how good they were the whole time! She also has some really nice General Powers.
Spectre is way better than I give it credit for. Mostly I just used the A10s in base ZH, but a Spectre, if they have no AA, can take out a whole SW/CC, or swap targets if need be with some micro. It's been so long since I've played base ZH, were they always 10/20/30 seconds at each rank?
'General' Notes:
1. Tank: EMP patriots plus the missile troopers makes this pretty easy, then it's just standard game plan from there.
2. Toxin: Not so dangerous of an opponent with air units as a defensive option for artillery, which USA generals have the best of. Pretty tough to deal with for GLA though.
3. Laser: No lack of options to break through the middle and break the base from the inside.
4. Air: A little refining, and this USA strategy could work great for sub 10 wins! Definitely need to get infantry into every single anti air fortification on the map, and could use missile troopers on top of rangers for the first drop. I think the top left guys don't activate until you destroy his command center and he does his "everyone attack" voice line, so could cap those early as well.
5. Demo: Man, USA Generals have it easier on these challenges. Even subpar gameplay works out fine. I did get absolutely SCAMMED by that double/triple range Stinger, like what the heck even was that? Also forgot about a lot of demos and lost 2 Burtons to them, whoops!
6. Nuke: Can just do the USA abuse air units strategy here. It's pricey, but hassle free and light on micro. Also where I learned a Spectre can actually kill a SW on it's own, albeit a bit delayed!
7. Stealth: Yeah, Alexsander's Shatterers are pretty good.
8. Infantry: Man, why do Tomahawks lose their missiles when the building gets destroyed unlike other artillery? Such a hassle for dealing with occupied enemy buildings.
9. Armor: Not super clean, but same strategy of lots of Missile Troops and going through either the left or right flanks into his base. Apaches can make the artillery a non-issue for USA generals.
10. Salvage: Okay, actually a fun way to utilize the aquatic mobility units in Shockwave. Very cool.
11. Special Weapons: Pretty chill with Alexander's cheaper SWs as a strategy. Still don't know what causes Leang to rebuild dozers and bases, or repair or not. Seems extremely inconsistent where sometimes she's using everything all at once on you and constantly rebuilding, and other times she never rebuilds dozers leading to an easy win. Still too much of a hassle to beat normally, though the SP Add-on adds a lot more safety tech buildings to push forward, but you're still looking at 40+ minutes of gameplay that way through all the Earthshakers, mines, and defenses, all the while getting bombarded by AoE EMP bombers, constant attack waves, and General Powers.
