(C&C SHWSP Mod #7) Nuke General Tao Hard Full Challenge (Backlog 14)
Cursed run, honestly.
Yeah, I'm getting too many upgrades and chilling when I should just move out 5 minutes earlier. I just like having the fully upgraded death blob, okay? How ya gonna have a nuclear arsenal and NOT use it, right?
As much as it's nice to have faster units, all they're really doing is sending themselves to an earlier grave since they split apart from one another faster after getting un-stuck, not to mention the chain reaction explosions. Instant spin up Gatling turrets are pretty nice though, I will say. Devastators are better than I originally gave them credit for near the beginning, they're pretty usable!
Very interesting is that you have a side-grade to the Propaganda Center, so you can still build the basic artillery and Nuke silos without it, but you probably still want hackers anyways for funding. Also, cheaper silos and shorter CD buffed nukes are very nice additions to the China arsenal.
'General' Notes:
1. Laser: Man, Townes came out SWINGING. Honestly, should've just gone bunker Helixes. There might be an infantry tier 1 only strategy with the siege infantry, but they do such little DPS, and I think Pathfinders still outrange them, so you'd have to wait for Gen Powers to destroy the garrisoned buildings.
2. Toxin: Yeah, I'm thinking bunker Helixes are just the answer to every Vs AI problem...
3. Tank: Usual mid infantry rush strat. Just wanted to experience the nuclear arsenal for the big boom.
4. Super Weapons: Still the most annoying, unnecessary level.
5. Stealth: Figuring out the power of the Devastator. Probably could've just spammed these bad boys for this level, or just gone Helix(again). Nuclear MIGs and bombers are still fun to spam, even if microing them get's annoying.
6. Demolition: Yeah, ground unit jank is not your friend here. Those Topols just destroyed my Overlords while they were trying to turn their barrels, and the demo bikes just destroy them in 2 hits anyways. I think Devastators and artillery would've been the play. Any air units are good defense against this guy, I should've just used them for offense too and gone Bunker Helix(yet again) with Nuke Bomber support. Also, imagine losing an air unit to a demo trap, like what the heck?
7. Air: Yeah idk what triggered his scripts to function right off the bat. Like I said, cursed run. If they didn't, could probably do an infantry strategy with the siege infantry and mass Red Guard/Tank Hunters, or go in after farming Gen 5 to EMP all the air units at the supply dock. Or do what I did, and take out the power then go with a bunch of guys. Instant startup Gatling Tanks are very nice here.
8. Infantry: Think you can actually clear buildings with the alternate Nuke Cannon shells, but I can't remember their name because I almost never use them(they can clear out GLA tunnels too for multiplayer/skirmish, not so relevant for Vs. Ai stuff). R.A.D. tanks are one of the nicer building clearers, and Tao isn't hurting for artillery, so standard artillery + whatever follow up you feel. I just wanted to see if all those Devastators could break the bunkers and they technically did destroy both of them.
9. Armor: Geez, everyone came out swinging. Still a pretty stressful level(though I guess that's a good thing), but the fatigue was setting in. Can do a standard tank blob through the left or right sides here, and Overlords/Devastators are pretty good for it, and air units can always help against the Howitzers, or just air unit if you're China/USA after disabling or destroying all the AA(there's not that much, and they're squishier than you think). Also, did that Helix pilot catch a leaflet midair through his propeller thrust? How'd he even get disabled from it, lol.
10. Salvage: I miss having decent amphibious units, that was pretty fun with Alexsander. But overall chill map with essentially infinite funds for you.
11. Special Weapons: Was a faster finish with Nuke general against these last two.
