This method relies on two things. One, you may save your other jump for later, to use after an air Area attack for example (unfortunately this does not actually reset your jumping momentum, as it would do in God of War). Two, backwards double jump doesn't have a speed/acceleration cap? In any case, if you let Gabriel fall down in backwards double jump motion for a while, he gains speed in quite an impressive way.

This method is faster than inching forward through air with 1000 water balloons, but so far seems more difficult as well. It's a shame Music Box has such a low ceiling, because it hampers the effectiviness of the backwards long jump trick.
