By jumping against an angled surface while on a chocobo and then changing your party leader repeatedly (with precise timing) you can inch upwards the surface. This sort of surface is not that easy to come by in this game, but I found two places where the trick allows an alternative route in a level. In Oerba, you can get on the roof of the house from the ground level by doing this trick. And in New Bodhum, you can traverse the normally one-way higher path to the other direction as well. Maybe not too useful so far...

As a bonus clip, there's an example of cancelling animations using party leader change. It's a neat little trick that also works in FFXIII. In this instance, the chocobo is trying to do a series of long jumps through the pathway, but you can skip them (and end up in the next jumping spot instantly) by changing leader. This would save time if opening the menu wasn't so slow, but maybe this trick still has an use in a speedrun... You can also cancel getting on/off chocobo and the various Mog-related animations doing this.
