Cat Quest III | Co-op Game Review
Cat Quest 3 Review
My wife and I play games together all the time, but very rarely do we get to play an RPG together that supports local co-op play. There just aren’t that many of them.
Sure, there’s always Baldur’s Gate 3. And while we definitely had a good time playing that game, there's no denying, BG3 can be a lot to handle.
Most of the time, we want to play something that’s a little less intense and a little more chill.
So, this game here is Cat Quest 3. Yes, you play as pirate cats, and yes, the art style is a little cutesy. But, I’m telling you, the gameplay is amazingly solid.
I’ve often said that the previous game in this series, Cat Quest 2, was the perfect introduction to the action RPG genre.
I honestly suspected that Cat Quest 3 might fill that role even better. And in some ways, I do think it’s a better game.
The pirate theming is spot-on, the writing is hilarious, and I think it has better overall gameplay. But it’s also slightly more complicated than the 2nd game.
There’s just a bit more depth to the game’s mechanics.
So, it may not be quite as beginner friendly, but that means it’s also more appealing to seasoned gamers.
And that’s great if you plan to play it as a co-op game where two people have different levels of gaming experience.
Essentially, no matter your skill level - Cat Quest 3 is just a fun game, and we highly recommend it.
