Now for the new content added into the DS version of the game... well there's also the lost sanctum but that place is terrible and I'm not playing it again. But dimensional vortex is quite a good little story arc. Connecting things to the events of Chrono Cross. The Dimensional vortex dungeons are split into 3 parts. Part 1 is a mixtape of sorts where you run through semi random areas throughout the game but with a few new areas thrown in. This is also a way to refight one off enemies like the Ghaj and get more magic capsules. Part 2 is the dedicated dungeon which typically has relation to the cut area of the game in some way or another. Mainly the singing mountain while including the unused music. Lastly is the story segment where you control either Marle, Crono, or Lucca through a short cutscene bit before a boss fight with their shadow the true self... wait wrong series.

After beating all of them you unlock access to the true final battle.

Iron Maiden: Difficulty 4/10 The Iron Maiden Has 10000 HP and high physical defense while countering with Osmose and absorbs magic. The challenge comes from how durable the boss is but black hole can one shot them

Iron Maiden(s): Difficulty 7/10 This is getting out of hand now there are two of them.

Crimson Shade and Eggsterminator: Difficulty 8/10 Half of this bosses attacks are status effects otherwise she mostly spams flare which seemingly does random damage because I've seen it hit for 100 damage and I've seen it hit for 1700 Damage. The Eggsterminator is just there to make the fight last longer. With a combined total of 22000 HP.

Snowbeasts: Difficulty 2/10 Behold the highest EXP enemy in the game that you can farm.

Alabaster Shade: Difficulty 3/10 She honestly can't do much against you. Marle is so good in this game because she's a support character but Alabaster just tries to do offense and it doesn't work. Plus with only 16000 HP she's not gonna live very long against final kick.

Once King Dalton: Difficulty 7/10 Dalton is back and finally he has enough HP to matter. Unfortunately his cool counter gimmick is gone but he at least has two phases. Phase 1 is an absolute joke as all he does is spam tier 2 magic that we've long since moved past using. He'll barely scratch you outside of iron sphere. The real challenge is when he gains a second wind. Now using all the maximum tier spells like Flare, Luminaire, Iceberg, and Dark Matter on top of his iron sphere and countering with MP buster every time he's hit. It's fun and it's cool that Dalton actually gets to put up a real fight for once. Upon death he has his Kamikaze attack that he used in the first fight.

Steel Shade: Difficulty 8.5/10 Sup bro ya like counters? Like nonstop counters. Constantly getting hit by Rend and Scintillation? What about the fact that this boss has the prism spectacles equipped giving him a damage buff (you can steal and equip those by the way but I didn't find it necessary)

Schala: Difficulty 10/10 the hardest challenge in the game and the most emotional boss fight. This is the fight where robo finally gets to shine with the help of the crisis arm. Phase 1 mostly uses Lavos phase 1 attacks but counters anything physical with MP buster. Meanwhile phase 2 has her lower her defenses but now she absorbs all magic attacks and counters everything with chaotic will (hope you brought status nulls) at this point a lot of her attacks can deal around 700-1000 damage if not prepared and this is also why Robo is essential. Not only does the crisis arm give him some crazy offense but with Crono and Marle/Nadia in the party it allows us to use their triple technique which gives you auto revive. Not a requirement but definitely a helpful move to have.

After that enjoy the... very downer ending. There's still 1 more video after this.
