The Fated Hour is upon us. At this point you can go throw hands with the final boss but you're probably not ready and the ending won't be complete. Instead there are some optional challenges for us to face that give some great gear and more importantly gives your party members some more development while helping conclude their story arcs.

Sea of stars also does this but you have to beat the game and get the normal ending first which is fine... but those damn seashells kinda kill the motivation for me... especially since my damn save file where I got them all was lost because fuck me I guess.

Ok enough ranting onto chrono trigger.

Son of Suns: Difficulty RNG/10 This boss is weird. All of his attacks are fire element except for one single dark attack (that does hit hard) unfortunately for you that fire attack is flare... one of the most powerful attacks in the game period. Thankfully red plates can absorb the damage so you only need to worry about the dark beam. Also to actually damage the boss you need hit the correct flame around the boss. How do you know which is which? Blind luck. However this can be mitigated if you're not an idiot like me. Magus has a technique called black hole that can suck up enemies and instantly kill them and this works on the false flames helping reduce the guessing game, alternatively using an AOE spell will tell you where the real flame is because it'll be the one that does not counter attack... but that requires surviving being counter attacked 5 times. You may be thinking "wait if it spams elemental attacks why not just use Lucca with the elemental aegis" to which I say... you're absolutely right I'm an idiot and forgot. Anyways charming the son of suns nets you a Dark Mail... why not the red mail I dunno. After that's done there's a drawn out questline with the moon stone to make it a sunstone (but I wanted a nidoking) and it concludes with you getting Lucca's Ultimate weapon the wondershot... it's weird and I don't like it. More importantly you get the sunglasses which is a 25% damage buff to the person equipped with it.

Cyrus: Difficulty Scripted/10 You can't really hurt Cyrus so just fight him until the cutscene triggers. After some dungeon crawling Glenn gets his Masamune powered up to become his ultimate weapon. The dungeon also carries some time chests. Suzaku isn't Crono's Best sword but it has a 4x damage multiplier on critical hits. The moonbeam armor is strong but I'd highly recommend picking up the nova armor as well thanks to it negating status effects. The Valkyrie Bow is Nadia's Ultimate weapon but I'd actually recommend the Siren's Kiss over it due to the ability to inflict stop on opponents.

Rust Tyranno: Difficulty 4/10 Welcome to the Chrono Trigger DPS test... is what I would say but it turns out that charge attack it has isn't that dangerous. I thought it did upwards of 700 damage but no it's only 200. Either way the boss has 25000 HP which is only beaten out by 3 other bosses, two of which are in the post game. Charm for a red plate.

Atropos: Difficulty 7.5/10 6500 HP isn't a ton but you only have robo for this fight. Her elemental attacks are no threat but rapid fire punch hits for about 100 damage and the real threat is robot tackle which deals half your health. As well as her having the counter cricket chirp which puts you to sleep and she Kamikaze's upon death.

Mother Brain: Difficulty 1.5/10 Steal for a blue plate. If you want an easy win use omega flare to one shot her. Otherwise her only dangerous attack is running wild which she can only use if her displays are all gone... and she only has 5000 HP. Any gimmick she has is irrelevant when she'll be dead in 10 seconds if you don't intentionally hold back.

Ultimate Spekkio: Difficulty 9/10 The Superboss of the SNES version of the game. Good luck

Flea: Difficulty 1.1/10 The only minor threat is a turn 1 confusion.

Slash: Difficulty 1/10 Barely any HP

Ozzie, Slash, and Flea: Difficulty 8/10 I love this fight it's one of my favorites. They have all their moves from their previous fights but now they have their own dual techs and even delta storm for triple techs. Steal from Ozzie for the Ozzie Pants, a Meme item, Slasher II is garbage ignore it, Flea gives you Flea's Bustier which has +12 to magic defense which is nice.

Invincible Ozzie: Difficulty Impossible/10 have fun

Yakra XIII: Difficulty 5/10 It's like Yakra but not at all like Yakra because there's no annoying counter. In combat he's sorta like the Lavos spawn but with 13000 HP instead of 4000. Charm nets you the white plate and the best helmets or armor in the game. I prefer the prism helmets but it's entirely up to you.
