Now for the big exciting fights to cap off the first act of the game... well there isn't really a set act structure but i personally see it as act 1 goes up to the fiendlords keep since Magus was the ominous presence all the way back at the start of the game. Act 2 ends at the ocean palace and it's events that I won't spoil. Then act 3 ends when the credits roll.

Bosses get a fair bit more involved here

Spekkio: Difficulty Master Of War/10 Before you head off to the fiendlords keep turn your ass around and take Glenn to see Spekkio so he can unlock his magic and gain access to his other skills like heal. The big prize here is Aerial strike if you're willing to go for it. I personally fight a few monster until I unlock heal then I get Aerial strike as I go through the dungeon.

Honestly the Gaolers aren't even really a boss I just forgot to remove them from the video so uhhh whatever.

Slash: Difficulty 7.25/10 Welcome to a fight against evil Crono. Phase 1 is fairly tame but once he draws the sword he's gonna start pulling out things like wind slash and cleave. But beating him rewards you with the slasher 2 which is an amazing weapon that'll stay good for a while thanks to the speed boost it provides.

Flea: Difficulty 5/10 Flea's a shapeshifter taking multiple different forms but only really one matters. A lot of this fight is dealing with status effects primarily poison, sleep, and confusion. Still not exactly hard since panacea's cure everything. Also try to kill the Juggler with a counter attack to get around the MP Buster.

Ozzie: Difficulty 1/10 You know what to do

Magus: Difficulty 8/10 This boss kicked my ass as a kid. Nowadays it's still a bit tricky. Magus has two phases and is by far the tankiest boss so far with 6,666 HP and two phases. Phase 1 is kind of a puzzle boss as he'll use an elemental attack showing what his weaknesses is temporarily. You can't have an answer to every element so you'll need to pick your poison. You may think Marle is the worst choice for this battle but no not really. She increases your healing by a ton making phase 2 much easier to survive while also having haste which allows you to get far more turns. Robo has a weak laser for shadow damage but with him you have access to your first triple tech (you could also get one with Marle but it's a lot more demanding to unlock while this one is free) Then Lucca more or less gives you the best coverage but unless Magus is weak to fire she can't really do much other than throw some items. After losing roughly half his HP he'll enter phase 2 where he drops his defenses to unleash his ultimate attack dark matter. Dark matter is devastating and you'll want to be full health to survive it. This is also where Marle may be advised becasue you can heal everyone up much quicker then get to beating on Magus with speed buff. Either way it's a fun and challenging fight with amazing music.
