Chrono Trigger: Prehistory Bosses
0These fights don't really fit into the Magus arc or the next arc so even though there's only 2 fights it's getting it's own video.
Spekkio: I lied there's 3 bosses in this video. Just like the other spekkio fights it's a battle of using magic. I would have saved this fight for the next video but I would gain a level of black tyranno causing me to miss this boss permanently if I don't fight it now.
Nizbel: Difficulty: 6/10 Nizbel's rematch can be a challenge. All the same moves are back but now he'll no longer be stunned after being hit by electricity. Instead his defense is kind of on a scale hitting him with electricity lowers his defense while hitting him with anything else raises it. On top of that he can still use electric discharge after a while.
Azala and Black Tyranno: Difficulty 7/10 Black Tyranno only has 3 attacks but over 10000 HP by far the most so far, even more than creature lavos actually, while Azala has 2700 HP. The Tyranno will mostly just shoot out fireballs and eat party members to drain their HP in phase 1. Azala meanwhile uses psychokineses or some other mysterious power that isn't actually magic and isn't used by any other boss in the game... well technically 2 bosses but let's not talk about the lost sanctum. Once Azala goes down she'll perform a sap attack on the party so you'll constantly take damage over time and the Black Tyranno will become enraged charging up a devastating attack so this is where it becomes a DPS race to do as much damage as you can... but if you're at close to full HP you should survive just fine and the boss is a lot slower than Magus. After the rampage ends the defense remains dropped followed by the black tyranno using fireballs and devouring again with a chance to enrage. This fight is made a lot easier with Marle/Nadia using haste.
Also important thing to note is if Ayla has charm here's where you're really gonna want to get boss items (and a few enemy items) from my experience the chances are good but not guaranteed however having marle to help with twin charm seems to be borderline guaranteed.
Charming Nizbel nets you the third eye accessory, the first fight also has a third eye if you want to grind techs for that long... I did not. Second is the Black Tyranno and Azala, Azala has the highly coveted magic capsule great for Marle and Lucca. Black Tyranno has a strength capsule not as important but still appreciated.
