Backyard Football was released for the Gamecube in 2002. It was developed by Humongous Entertainment (they did the Putt-Putt games!! Other kid games: Pajama Sam, Freddi Fish, etc), and published by Infogrames, who published a lot of not-very-great games.


Although this game is clearly meant for children, it's pretty fun! The players do run very, very slow, but beyond that, I can safely say that this Gamecube game from 2002 that was made for children is better than any Madden game over the last 10 years. So... there's that. Not a high bar, I know.
