Columbia Pictures’ “The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland” - 1999 DVD Review
This is a review of Columbia Pictures’ 1999 DVD of “The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland,” a Sesame Street movie. This is the second Sesame Street theatrical release, after 1985’s “Follow that Bird,” which was made by Warner Bros. This is my second favorite Columbia Pictures film after “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.” Now back to “The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland,” as this is the first appearance of a newly-refurbished Elmo puppet. As part of part of his upgrades he now has slicked back fur, realistic hands, is plumper and larger in height. This is one of Sesame Street’s greatest works because it focuses on their #1 monster, Elmo. Now the plot of the film: Elmo and his blue blanket are inseparable. When Oscar throw it in the trash, Elmo and his friends go to rescue his beloved blanket before the greedy Huxley has the blanket. I hope you enjoy the show and have fun with Elmo on this great journey to rescue his beloved big blue blanket. Note: Soundtrack available on Sony Wonder, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. 👹🧢🗑️📀🎬🎥📽️🎞️🍿
