
Complete in Box Plays - Cold Fear (Xbox) - Part 3
Just IMAGINE playing this game without following a walkthrough at all times. Yes, certain survival horror games have you travel back to different places, but they are usually in areas that aren't so 'same-y'.
For example, the Resident Evil 1 mansion has specifically different designs for all areas, so you can start to put the map together.... PLUS, most survival horror games have a MAP (I swear I've pressed every button and didn't see a map).
The big problem with the exploration in Cold Fear is this game goes 'Find a bunch of locked doors, eventually find key, go back and try every door until one unlocks' whereas most survival horror games are 'Find doors locked because of very specific items, find that specific item, and know where to go to unlock it'. As stated before, I really like or want to like this game, but that's a huge annoyance.
Regardless, we'll be back with more Cold Fear next sit-down!
