"Corpse Party: Blood Covered ...Repeated Fear", "Corpse Party -Rebuilt-", "CORPSE-PARTY ZERO", "Corpse Party: Book of Shadows", "CORPSE--PARTY-0" "Corpse Party if PAST END", & "CORPSE-PARTY - Cross Fear -"... Prior to this third official installment in the "Corpse Party" franchise, Neosekken has put seven other Corpse Party titles under his belt, both official and fan-made. By this point, Neo feels he's played enough games based on Corpse Party to generally know what to expect from any future titles he'll inevitably check out going forward, and will have enough experience to get through each new game, official or not, without too much trouble. Indeed, by this point Neo is beginning to think that, as time goes on, it will become increasingly harder to surprise him in new Corpse Party games, especially if most of them follow a common gameplay and story formula that will make it harder for any new titles he plays to stand out among the dozens of Corpse Party games already in existence, and would therefore need to find Corpse Party games that go out of their way to break out of this mold in an attempt to try something new.
And for better or worse, Neo knows that he's going to get EXACTLY THAT in this official entry into the Corpse Party series of games that has finally and recently (as of the beginning of this LP) gotten a Western release outside of Japan, curtesy of XSeed Games. "Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko's Hysteric Birthday Bash" is a visual novel spinoff game that takes place sometime between the events of "Corpse Party: Book of Shadows" and "Corpse Party: Blood Drive", and features similar gameplay to "Book of Shadows", and is set inside the otherwordly Heavenly Host Elementary School, as was the last two official entries in the series. And as far as Neo himself is aware going into this game, that's where the similarities "Corpse Party: SSHBB" has with previous official entries ends, as "Corpse Party: SSHBB" (if the game's name alone doesn't clue you in as to what its main premise is about and what the general tone of the game is going to be) is a romantic comedy game with horror elements whose primary focus is centered around the title character celebrating her 7th birthday (again, as she's dead and therefore doesn't age) in the most ludicrous, over-the-top series of events possible with every single cast member from previous games, alive or dead, invited as guests for the special occasion, along with several new characters who make their debut in this game.
Indeed, as far as Neo himself is concerned, "Corpse Party: SSHBB" PROBABLY couldn't be more different from your typical Corpse Party game than if it tried. Emphasis on "probably", because its not like Neo knows EXACTLY how much THC oil the developers behind this game must've used to not only come up with something like this but incorporate elements from this game into official canon. Yes, you read that right: "Corpse Party: SSHBB" is, if not the entire package then at least in part, PART OF THE SAME OFFICIAL CANON AS "Corpse Party: Blood Covered" & "Corpse Party: Book of Shadows".
Yes, open your bathroom door, and let that sink in.
While Neo knows the general premise of this game, since Neo is unaware of what the minds of the developers who made this game are like when they're high on THC oil... he can only speculate on just how deep the rabbit hole will go before he eventually reaches the bottom. But if nothing else though, Neo is certain of at least ONE thing that will happen in this 8th experience of his with the Corpse Party series:
"Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko's Hysteric Birthday Bash" will most certainly do everything in its power to become an UNFORGETTABLE experience for him - and will likely succeed...
