As Neosekken continues exploring the Ibis Island facility, Neo finds a dying survivor who hints that Dr. Kirk may have had a hand in whatever is currently happening on the island when Regina asks him about the doctor's whearabouts, giving Regina some kind of key and expiring before Regina can learn any more information from him. Using this key and his knowledge from previous runs of the game, Neo unlocks a hidden safe in the room the survivor was found in -- then finds himself having to fend off the apex predator on the island, much to Neo's joy and terror.

After this encounter, Neo resumes unlocking more areas of the ground level and exploring each of them, until he eventually comes across Gail, who Regina got separated from in the last episode. Gail goes to the control room on the first floor to meet up with Rick. Finding no signs of Dr. Kirk anywhere on the ground level of the facility, Neo goes to the control room to meet up with Rick and Gail, who decide that their next course of action is to start investigating the underground section of the facility since its the only place left they haven't looked, but before they can get down there Neo has to restore power to the B1 area. After doing this Neo and Regina find themselves being called back to the control room by Rick, and once they return they find out that Gail saw someone on one of the underground monitors. As they get ready to open a path to the underground so they can go and investigate, however, they start receiving a distress signal from one of their teammates. They first speculate it could be coming from Cooper (although Neo knows for a fact that isn't possible due to the events of the opening cinematic), but Rick also brings up the possibility that the signal could be coming from Tom, the spy who was placed on the island prior to their arrival.

While Rick is eager to go help whoever is sending the signal, Gail is more concerned with finding the survivor they saw in the underground since it could be Dr. Kirk and suggests that they deal with the distress signal later, which Rick (and Neo) find outrageous. Gail also points out the possibility of the distress signal being some sort of trap, but Rick states he's willing to take the risk, and before doing so he opens the way up to the underground for Gail before going off on his own. Gail leaves shortly after, heading for the underground, although not before voicing his displeasure with Rick's attitude towards him.

This presents Neo and Regina with a choice: Does he follow Gail's idea and go with him to find any clues that will help the team locate Dr. Kirk, or does he put priority on rescuing his comrade first? Neo decides to choose the latter option, and follows Rick to a large-sized elevator located East of the rear entrance the team came in from. It is here that Neo, Regina and Tom located a severely-wounded Tom, who tells Regina and Rick that Kirk is insane and that his experiments "have nothing to do with energy development", but before he can divulge any further information Tom passes out.

It is then that Neo has to begin work on bringing Tom to a safe location so Rick can try to treat his injuries, but it won't be easy with the path he took to get to the large-sized elevator being suddenly cut off as a result of an earthquake. To make matters worse, he has to contend with a new type of dinosaur that literally hovers over his head...
