[Pandara: Primitive Panda Shooting / パンダラ] Arcade Euforia Way 01 & Way 03 No Death
Way 01: 00:00
Way 03: 25:21
I regret buying this game discounted. This game is too nice for its asking price!
It's a bullet hell shmup that is... monochrome!? This game will make you appreciate colors. But the game is still a pleasant experience, though. The game has story mode where stages can be selected in separate chunks, great for casual playing. Arcade basically strings them together in one linear run. Like arcade games! Its main point is being easy. Very easy. At least, for shmup standard.
Hold shoot to rapidly shoot, generally in wide arc. For Euforia her wide shot seems to have piercing property. Nice for stages, mediocre for bosses because the shot will only register once per enemy. You can change speed, then not shooting will charge the focus shots. Shoot again to spend the loaded focus shots. Euforia's focus shot is piercing missiles. Not.. much. To be frank homings is more useful in this game. Pandar has the homing focus shot.
The stage design doesn't have much to be commented here except despite being easy, the variation is healthy. So it's fun! There is a good amount of safe spots so this game is great to build up advanced techniques like tap dodging and very especially, point blanking. You must do point blanking to access the true final boss on Way 02 and Way 03. Otherwise you'll be timed out. You can't access the true final boss on Way 01.
This game is sort of a cute-em-up? But I'd imagine the game will be bloody when given color... Yikes. The game has a good amount of human bosses here.
Way 01 is the 1st loop. Way 02 and Way 03 are the 2nd loops. Way 03 has more counter bullets, but the bosses are exactly the same with Way 02. Way 01 and Way 02 & 03 are chronologically connected like in the story mode. It's to the point both of them have different boss orders and forms! Interesting.
If there is any shmup that I would recommend to beginners to step up their techniques, one of them would be Pandara. It's hard to go wrong with this game!
