Hey, guys! Twenty-three years since the original Japanese anime series became a hit, Netflix released a live-action remake of Cowboy Bebop. Will there be a Season 2? While the renewal is not official yet, it is VERY likely, and here is why. DESPITE the fact that Cowboy Bebop approval ratings are mediocre, the viewership numbers will ultimately become the deciding factor, and we are sure that the pulp noir sci-fi will attract a large audience. The main reason Cowboy Bebop scored only 6.6 out of 10 on IMDb is the fact that most of those reviews came from the fans of the original anime, who found the remake less appealing. Which was expected. Viewers who NEVER saw the anime praised Cowboy Bebop as slick, energetic, fun and stylish. We loved the jazzy score and perfect casting of John Cho and Mustafa Shakir as Spike Spiegel and Jet Black. Filmed in New Zealand, the production of Cowboy Bebop was paused for 8 months after 49-year old John Cho sustained a knee injury on set. In October interview with Vanity Fair, the show’s writer and producer Christopher Yost said that he was already working on Season 2. Our verdict: Season 2 will be made. When Season 2 returns, is it possible that Julia, Spike’s former love, will become the new “bad guy” and lead the Syndicate? And is it possible that Spike and Vicious will put aside their differences and team up to stop her? Guys, share your Season 2 plot theories in the comments.
