Hey, guys! It doesn’t often happen when a Netflix Original from the drama genre breaks into the Netflix Top 10 list alongside big sci-fi or thriller shows. 33 days after its debut, Maid is STILL holding steady next to hits like Squid Game and You at #4 in the Global chart and #3 in the US, Australia and the UK. What about Season 2 of Maid? Although initially Maid was billed as a limited, one-time series, Season 2 is very possible now. We saw it happen with other limited shows like HBO’s Big Little Lies. Based on the bestselling memoir by Stephanie Land, Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother's Will to Survive, Season 1 ending is, like the book’s ending, quite conclusive. But there’s always a NEW story to tell. According to Maid’s creator and showrunner Molly Smith Metzler, Season 2 could focus on Alex’s new life in Montana. Alternatively, Season 2 of Maid could take the route of shows like The Sinner or recently renewed HBO’s hit The White Lotus, and become an anthology with a new cast and story. Audiences LOVED Maid. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series is rated by viewers and critics at 85 and 95%. Beautifully written and masterfully acted, Maid surely deserves a continuation. By the way, did you know that Margaret Qualley, who plays Alex, is the real-life daughter of Andie MacDowell, who plays Paula, Alex’s on-screen mother? This is the first time the mother-daughter duo appear in production together. Guys, share your thoughts on Maid in the comments with us.
