Now this is how you do a sequel. The controls feel tighter than they ever have, the gameplay is more varied, and the difficulty curve feels much smoother. There was always an element to the Crash games where it felt like the difficulty occasionally liked to slap you over the head, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped manages to remove a lot of that. Naughty Dog would go on to bigger projects after this (but not without making mascot karting classic Crash Team Racing), and unfortunately the series would torpedo not long after. I didn't mind The Wrath of Cortex, the first PS2 game in the series, but after that the series started to wander. Once the series moved out of Naughty Dog's hands, it was only a matter of time before the series ended up retired.
