What a strange little game this is. In the early nineties, video game pinball was all the rage, but this pinball platformer crossover doesn't quite scratch either itch. As a pinball game, it's a little frustrating and often times tricky to tell where you're headed. As a platformer, the controls are slow and quite imprecise. It's also notable for being developed by the American team at Sega Technical Institute, rather than Sonic Team. I'm not sure why I enjoy it as much as I do (that soundtrack is probably a good reason), but as one of the better Sonic spin off games (and that really isn't a high bar), it's worth a look.
