So... wait, what is this?

The "Conga Challenge" is an idea that streamer/youtuber TicTacFoe came up with, while watching another streamer play The Binding of Isaac. Take a look at TicTacFoe's video about the Conga Challenge for more info about the origins of the idea. =)

The Conga Challenge, in short:
- In Crypt of the NecroDancer, one of the boss enemies is named King Conga, and during this boss battle, you have to pause every 8th beat, according to the music.
- TicTacFoe thought it'd be fun (or at least amusing) to try this in other games as well. =)


For those of you unfamiliar with Crypt of the NecroDancer:

It's a cute, rogue-like game where pretty much all of your actions have to be done to the beat of the music. Which may sound weird, but it's actually a lot of fun. =)

For those of you unfamiliar with Assault Android Cactus:

It's a cute, frenetic twin-stick shooter, with a surprising level of depth and balance... especially considering how differently each character plays. IMO it's a lot of fun. =)

If you're curious about what actual AAC gameplay is like... I've uploaded quite a number of AAC videos on this channel. =) If you only look at one of my AAC playlists, though, I'd probably recommend either Starch or Peanut, whose playstyles are a little more standard, compared to Shiitake and Aubergine.

Oh, and if you're curious about Coral (the character I used for the Conga Challenge), I'll include a link to my Coral playlist near the bottom of this description... though at the time of this writing, other than this Conga Challenge, I've only recorded Coral in Boss fights... which are fun, but IMO don't really give you a good idea of what the rest of the game is like. =)


So... the Conga Challenge!

This challenge was a lot of fun. =) Once I discovered that Coral's shotgun blasts more or less lined up with every 2nd beat (the timing isn't exactly the same, but if you only fire two or three shots in a row, the difference isn't really noticeable), I just had to go with Coral. Plus, the defensive advatages of her Plasma Field didn't hurt, either. =)

I'm pretty happy with how this run turned out. Even though I did almost get knocked down once, when I didn't position myself quite as well as I would've liked for the pause-beat... =p Anyway, hope you enjoy! =)


Random semi-amusing note: The Steam Store is currently recommending the following Tags for me: Great Soundtrack, Female Protagonist, Rhythm, Action, Twin Stick Shooter. And now that I think about it, that's actually a pretty good description of this video. ^^;
