For those who are new in electronic may not have the idea how to power the 2 pins passive crystal oscillator / resonator. This is a simple experiment how it is done on 12 Mhz (12000 Hertz) 2 pins crystal using transistor BC547.

This kind of circuit is very useful in the field of radio transmission such as Radio, TV, mobile phone 2G, 3G, 4G, WiFi signals etc. The unique characteristic of the crystal is that it generate certain fixed frequency almost at constant unlike transistor alone will produce vary frequencies.
