Dark Souls 2 Ladle Only - Part 7: Brume Tower DLC and Eleum Loyce DLC
Lud and Zallen were not as bad as I thought they would be. I made it through the outskirts on my first mad dash with relative ease and they weren't that hard cuz my damage was still holding up pretty well. What I failed to realize was how awful ivory's gauntlet was going to be, that was actually worse than Z&L. Honestly, I just got sort of lucky with it. It would be easy enough with 4 knights. I used to always get all 4 knights for my runs, but as of late I've taken to skipping *that* knight who's super out of the way and makes you interact with the godforsaken hedgehogs. I mean A) it's barely worth it most the time (in this run it would've been very worth it, but usually it's not a huge deal to run with just 3 knights) and B) having 3 knights is much cleaner since you are guaranteed to 1v1 the king, since the knights aren't a summon or anything I don't consider having the 4th knight with you to help against the king to be cheating or anything, I think you can use the 4th knight and still call it a solo run since the knights are forced co-op anyways. It's just a lot cooler to 1v1 the king. But yeah 3 knight ladle gauntlet was rough, I highly reccomend the 4th knight for ladle runs. If I ever do any run like this with low damage again I will certainly bring the 4th knight with me cuz damage this low makes the gauntlet so annoying.
Honestly I'm surprised the damage held up this well. I figured the ladle would fall off since mundane scaling is limited, but nah it held up pretty well. It is by far the worst of the three joke weapons in this game. The broken swords are better since they can deal damage without infusion. Broken thief sword doesn't take mundane infusion well since daggers get a penalty on mundane making it better with a strength build, but the broken straight sword does improve a bit on mundane, but not by too much compared to strength. But for the Ladle mundane is mandatory, plus worse moveset. Broken Thief Sword is a dagger, Broken Straight Sword is a straight sword (duh), but the ladle is a hammer AKA the slowest class of light weaponry. But still, with the damage rings and mundane build the ladle's damage remains just barely usable, there's still yellow on most health bars and killing basic enemies is reasonable.
Almost flawlessed sir alonne, pretty upset about that one since I just barely missed getting the cool death animation. I did get the flawless W w/ cool animation in my broken straight sword run, that's an older run missing audio, but it's still on my channel all the same.
Btw idk if I addressed this anywhere on my channel, but I guess I'd admit it here buried in a random video's description, but the reason my older runs have no audio is because I scrubbed their audio since they had an open mic. Back when I was like 17-20ish when I did those older playthroughs I thought an open mic was a good idea for whatever reason and I mostly used to just whine about my personal life and scream at the game when I got mad. I can't listen through all those recording's commentaries for days on end to check and see if I said dumb shit that would make me look like an ass in them. I was an angry, lonely guy in his late teens to early twenty's living in the USA in the late 2010's, I had a lot of moody and dopey things to say at that time in my life, a lot of self-loathing and questionable political/philosophical takes that I wouldn't really stand by at this point in my life. So you know, average teenage boy stuff. Anyhow, I lost the original versions of those recordings so even if I wanted to make the forbidden commentary of 17-20 year old me whining about depression and life and screaming at a video game public, I can't because they are gone now. Besides I want this channel to just be a faceless, voiceless video archive rather than like a real channel sort of thing, I don't want my personality attached to this channel, nor do I want this channel to ever be remotely big or content-y. It's just my video archive that I allow to be public, because why not?
