So starting at fool's idol I noticed something odd; you deal more damage in the original game. I think they increased boss defenses or something? Idk, but it's interesting. This also sort of just ends the remake vs original game debates, remake is harder since you literally just deal less damage for whatever reason. Anyways add that to the list of differences. New rings/armor, some extra grass on the ground near the start, fire dreglings outside phalanx that drop fire bombs and pine resin constantly, starting gifts, and increased enemy defenses causing you to deal less damage. Those are the major gameplay changes in the remake that I've noticed.
Anyways, that aside I got insanely lucky with the broken sword drop this time. 1/200 drop and it happened in only a couple minutes. Crazy stuff.
