Demon's Souls (2009) - Broken Sword Only - Part 4: Third and fourth Archstones at Boleterian Palace
Penetrator is still a decent boss, allant is still a horrible boss. Shame because he's almost fun, has a good moveset. Really there's two main issues with him. He's too passive, he just slow walks way too much and its annoying and slows the fight down. Then there's the slam move that comes out near instantly at close and mid range. Super fun attack, fuck that move. If allant lacked his trademarked instant attacks and was more aggressive he would be one of the best bosses in the game. But as he is, his fight is weirdly slow paced and filled with janky nonsense. I mean he's still doable, if you're focused and have sharp reaction time it's possible to react to most of what he does and with proper spacing it's possible to avoid the bad moves entirely. But he's not fun. And he could be. He's got a lot of promise, but he's got a couple fatal flaws that mix horribly to make one of the most ass fights in the game. He's still not as bad as Gwyn in ds1 though, somehow. Well actually maybe he is tbh, idk, they're both pretty poorly designed, I mean at least there's semi reasonable strats for allant that still entail fighting him, Gwyn is just hammer w/ stamin regen stunlock or parry loop if you want any consistency at all. I view them pretty similiarly because they have similar issues. They both have one close range attack that comes out way too fast forcing you to play at a distance, they both have issues with their aggression level (allant is too passive causing tons of down time in the fight, gwyn is too aggressive making it virtually impossible to safely heal, buff, or even exist if you aren't just parry looping or stunlocking him). And yet both have pretty cool movesets and have the potential to be good fights
