Cruel fates is a ,,stress-DoT" team, here are roles of characters:
1st: Abomination (damage trinkets) - damage dealer
2nd: Jester (dodge trinket + damage trinket) - deathblow dealer
3rd: Houndmaster (dodge trinket + stress trinket) - stress dealer
4th: Occultist (dodge trinket + stress trinket) - stress dealer
PROS:
1) Mark synergy (Occultist + Houndmaster)
2) Great damage output
3) Great stress output
4) Great DoT output
5) Great healing potential
6) 2 stunners
7) 2 disruptors
8) 2 deathblowers
CONS:
1) Marks are a menace
2) Stuns are a menace
3) Stress is a menace
4) Disruption is a menace
5) RNGsus is a menace
Cruel fates is a stresss team with great strength of DoT and pure damage. You have 3 (self)healers, 2 stunners, 2 disruptors, 2 deathblowers (if we count Occultist’s „Sacrificial stab“ on afflicted character) and a good mark synergy. Sadly this team is vulnerable against mark and stress teams.
I tried to play a few strategies, such as „full DoT“, „the finishers“, „full stress“ and „mark team“. I tried both variantions of Abomination (melee beast / DoT puker), both variantions are good.
My advice: Start with Abomination for disruption OR stunning someone, next use Houndmaster for dealing damage - good choice, if he have „Hound rush“ skill. Then Jester for dealing damage and lastly Occultist for stressing OR healing someone.
When RNGsus chose for me this team, I thought, it would be easy to play. Well, not so much. You can make great pressure to the opponent, but you have some disadvantages. For example - 3 healers. That’s nice, but one is RNG-slot machine and the others 2 low ranged self heal. What’s a shame, I got only these players, so it wasn’t too much challenging. Only lost one match against darkest player with damage-stress team, because of RNGsus. Yup, RNGsus can screw you badly, you can see it in 4th match (in the whole set 2x I failed the Finale). Playing this was mid… nothing special.
