"Darkwing Duck" (Game Boy)
Ah, Darkwing Duck. That was a fun cartoon back in the day. I don't enjoy it as much as I did when I was a kid, but I'm still impressed by the large cast of stock villains the show had in its repertoire. And it needed those villains; after all, it was a superhero cartoon. And naturally, Disney and Capcom had to team up to make a superhero game based off the series.
Well, technically, it's two games. One on the Game Boy (which I have), and one on the NES. They're essentially the same game, just with some minor differences, mainly as a result of the differing screen sizes.
While Darkwing Duck isn't one of my favorite games, I felt I needed to at least try to give this playthrough some justice. As I play, you'll note that I am shooting at a lot of nothing. Each stage of the game has two bonus games that you can only access if you shoot the right spot. And while I do miss a few of them, I somehow manage to find a good amount of them, despite having actually forgotten that they existed until recently. On that note, it's kinda funny that you frequently find the "burglar's hideout" before you learn that there even was a burglary. =P
Darkwing Duck's a short game, so I play through in one sitting. Which, considering the game has no save feature, was kinda necessary. Also, if you're gonna make a game based on a TV show with a large cast of villains, why is it necessary to make one up that's never been in the show? (I'm looking at you, Wolfduck!)
Also, for those of you who haven't seen my Yoshi's Island playthrough, when I die, I usually fast-forward the video until it's back where I left off. And I wind up dying a bit more than I'd like. =P
Moliarty's and Bushroot's stage themes are awesome.
