Apparently, I have never actually beaten 150cc on my copy of the game. I thought I was just playing through for the fun of it, but now, I have something to prove. And prove it, I shall hopefully maybe I dunno. Seriously, Super Mario Kart is easily the most difficult Mario Kart around, and with several reasons:

1) Computer Luigi only gets Starmen, and he's your main opponent when you're playing as Koopa Troopa. The fact that I'm able to do as well as I can considering (and I use "well" loosely) is amazing.
2) You do not have unlimited retries. Lose three times and it's Game Over. Sometimes I'll lose on purpose if I don't want a person (Luigi) getting ahead too many points, but a few times in this video, I genuinely fail hard.
3) Kart control gets slippery at high speeds, which is why I let off the gas around many turns. (The game does have power slides, but they're way too difficult to control.)
4) Unresponsive buttons. Seriously, a lot of times when you see me throw a shell forward, I was trying to drop it behind me. Also, there's times where I try to drop an item, and the button press doesn't register.
5) The computer cheats: 1:02:58
6) Compare my Starman 1:00:29 with Luigi's Starman 1:11:11.
7) 50:06 What?!
8) You're just as likely to get a banana in last place as you are in first. (Also, why did I never get a lightning bolt? I know they're in this game somewhere. Come to think of it, there's supposed to be a ghost power-up, too. That would've made avoiding Luigi so much easier.)

Of course, part of my troubles comes from the fact that I make some pretty dumb mistakes. Especially when it comes to dodging Thwomps. (Although the set noted previously is just bad level design.)

Now, is the game fun? You bet it is. But 150cc is reserved for the incredibly skilled. Or the smart person who DOESN'T make Luigi her primary opponent. =P As a reminder, 150cc is only unlocked once you beat 100cc. And 100cc was tricky enough! If you're hoping to watch a struggle, you will not be disappointed with this video.

Whether I eventually do manage to beat 150cc, you'll have to watch to find out. (Or you can cheat by checking if I timestamp the ending in the list below.) But at the very least, I can hold the satisfaction of glitching Luigi in Mario Circuit 2. =D
