The Prismatic Fanfish is the sixth Fishmon quest given to you by Udo. He tells you that it can be found in the Underwater Lake, and that it can create mirror images of itself.

To prepare, bring along a Harpoon Gun with a status effect like poison. I had the Hush Dart with me at the time, and it didn't work on the Prismatic Fanfish, but I would say maybe also try to bring along another weapon like a poison or fire rifle and see if that will work as well.

To find the Prismatic Fanfish, head to the mirror on your boat, and warp to the Sea Village People. Once in the Village, exit to the left of the area to get to the Giant Blue Hole. From here, proceed to swim upwards until you reach about 190-195m deep. You want to look for the hole in the wall on the right side of the area with yellow light coming out of it. This is the Underwater Lake.

After entering the Underwater Lake, just follow the path until you see the Fishmon! I would suggest getting rid of as many aggressive fish as you can in the area beforehand.

When the Prismatic Fanfish gets scared, it will make two mirror images appear. I couldn't really notice a visual difference between any of them, but by shooting the correct one, the status effect icon on it was a giveaway of which one was the real one. Shooting a fake one causes it to disappear. The projected images won't have the icon on it, so you will be able to easily tell which one is the real one. Just keep shooting it with the Harpoon Gun (or weapon, if that works) to keep causing status effects on it, and it will eventually become stunned, allowing you to grab it!
