In order to get the It Takes Two achievement, you have to survive a night on the Normal mode, and you can only have two characters. It's gonna be a bit tough since you have to survive 20 minutes, but with proper set up, it's not too bad.

First off, I would suggest spending some points in the skill tree before attempting this. Things that will definitely help are passives that will help fill the void of not having that third squad member. I would suggest focusing on things that boost movement speed, reload speed, weapon damage, and xp gain. These will help you be powerful enough to survive the last ~5 minutes when things start to get hectic.

After spending some points on the skill tree, bring whatever character you prefer as the leader. To be honest, I chose Tank to lead since his Drone ability will be really helpful once fully leveled, and also because I still needed to survive the night with him.

After picking your leader, just play and keep leveling up. I recommend working on weapon upgrades first as taking on this challenge with only 2 squad members and weak weapons will not go well. Once the first SOS signal is detected, go rescue the person. Choose whichever character you want. I went with SWAT since he has high DPS once you get his Pistol upgraded to an Assault Rifle. Plus, his helicopter special can really help, especially if you walk with it as it rains bullets down on the zombies.

Once you have 2 squad members, do NOT recruit a third. It is still ok to do the SOS rescues, just keep choosing to Liberate instead of choosing a character. This will also net you $800 AND a level up, so it is worth it. Just be careful to not accidentally choose a character. Take a second to confirm you are highlighting Liberate.

Always get the yellow supply crates when they appear (indicated by a yellow arrow). These will help you so much. Again, as with the skill tree, I recommend going for passives that will help with things like movement speed, weapon damage, reload speed, etc. Don't worry about rerolls or anything like that.

Once both your characters are maxed out from leveling up, you get a choice for money or health. Remember this, as during the last 3-5 minutes, the zombies get pretty quick and numerous, so it gets a bit harder. You get this choice not only from getting a level up when they are at max, but also if they are maxed out and you open a yellow supply crate. Use the health when needed! It would suck to die so close to the end.

That's about it. Keep leveling up, do NOT grab a third squad member, and use health from leveling up or the yellow supply crates as needed. Survive 20 minutes, and the achievement is yours!
