Dave The Diver - Tips on preparing for, and hosting, the Cucumber Party!
1One day, you will get mail stating that a Cucumber Party will be held in 3 days. For me, I received the mail on Friday 11/11 in-game, making the Party land on Monday 11/14.
To prepare for this event, make sure to speak with Otto to learn how to grow Cucumbers. Right after, start planting Cucumbers in the garden, and make sure to keep the nutrients high for it. Use Nutrient Compost to make your dirt healthy when needed, but try to make sure to use a Harvest-Up Fertilizer right before they are fully grown to get extra! MAKE SURE TO KEEP TENDING YOUR GARDEN! You need to make sure to have plenty of Cucumber, as this will be the rarest of your ingredients for the dishes you want to cook at this point (since you just unlocked them). Stop here every time you return to the boat (or skip time), and make sure to pull weeds and keep the nutrients high for your garden.
Next, and I didn't record this part, go talk to Bancho to learn a few new recipes that will help for the event. Any recipe that can be used for an upcoming event will have a pink bowtie asset in the bottom left corner of the dish. Pick a few of the dishes, and make sure to stock up on ingredients for them, AND make sure not to use those ingredients in other dishes while waiting for the 3 days to be over. I went mostly with the Seasoned Waptia Fieldensis dish since the ingredients were pretty easy to come by, and after leveling it up a few times, was netting me $680 per dish, and it makes 5 dishes each time you cook the recipe one time.
Spend as much time diving as you can to collect ingredients for your dish, work on side quests, or even just skip the time if you want, until the remaining days have passed. On the third day, you will get a reminder in the morning that the Event will take place on that day. So far, Events have been during the night phase for me, so take the morning and day time to dive and collect ingredients that you may need for the dish/dishes that you chose to stick to.
Once night comes, it's time for a Cucumber Party! Head to Bancho's, and set up your menu to be dishes that the Cucumberholics want to eat! Again, these dishes are indicated by a pink bowtie asset in the bottom left of the dish. Serve up as much of these dishes as you can, and watch the money fly in!
