First, full credit and thanks to Eagle Dynamics Forum user, Boris, for writing such a good CDU wind correction tutorial. Here it is in case you want to read along: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124711

In this video, we go into how to set up the A-10C's CDU and DSMS systems for accurate and effective *unguided* weapons delivery. In this example, we're using Mk 82 slicks, Mk 82 AIR high drag bombs, unguided rockets and the very deadly CBU-97.

To achieve this, we need to tell the targeting computer what winds will be affecting our projectiles. This takes some simple math, but once you do it a couple of times, it's a snap and takes *far* less time than this tutorial! No worries.

Unfortunately, the depth of the systems required a longer video, but if you're here, I assume you want to learn about the guts of the Warthog's targeting systems anyway. We start with converting and entering briefing wind data into the CDU (Control Display Unit,) so that the Hog's computers can compensate for wind drift by adjusting the aiming point.

Second, we go into the DSMS (Digital Stores Management System) to set up weapons profiles how we want them.

After that, we can get pretty good accuracy with the A-10C, even with unguided ordnance, using either CCIP or CCRP HUD modes. It's not exactly the precision we get from JDAM's, Mavericks or LGB's, but it'll do the job!
